A rugby kick is much more difficult than a field goal in NFL football. They are not contested. However, the kicker must be fast enough to catch the ball, make a touchdown and not get hit in the face. You need to be able to perform rugby kicks. You need to be able run, pass, and tackle. You do not need to wear a helmet unlike in football. Also, you don’t have much time for your breath.

Clemson has ramped back rugby over the past few weeks. The Wolfpack put pressure on the Gamecocks, forcing them to accept penalties deep within their territory. Although the Wolfpack couldn't get the desired result they wanted, the Wolfpack played strong. It was a huge challenge for the Gamecocks in terms of field possession and scrums.

Dana Corcoran was hampered in the first ten minutes with a stray kick to the face. However, he was helped out by fellow pack players, including Max Simons, Joejuan Williams, and Drew Busbee.
